This farmhouse had been in the family for 60 years - much loved, but relatively untouched since. The brief was to completely re-modernise, largely keeping the structure and layout the same. We uncovered a hidden fireplace in the Sitting Room, took a redundant section of landing out to create a double height stairwell in the Entrance Hall, but made sensible choices such as simply painting the existing oak fronted kitchen to bring it up to date. Working with a lot of existing furniture, we created a warm and welcoming home by bringing in colour, pattern and texture.
